Diagnostic Imaging
24 hours per day, seven days a week, one can find the Diagnostic Imaging Centre at Clínica São Vicente ready to serve physicians and patients with highly qualified professionals both in technical skills and in personal care as this the characteristic of Clínica São Vicente.
The technology was updated to fully meet the needs of the patients, both those hospitalized and those in the outpatient environment. For our customers the difference is the significant reduction in the duration of the exams (in most cases done in a few minutes) and in the high resolution level of the diagnostics – which during a medical emergency might represent a decisive factor for the therapeutic action and in many cases to save the patient’s life.
Exams
The Diagnostic Imaging Centre offers Magnetic Resonance, Computerized Tomography, Ultrasound and general radiology – methods which are complementary to diagnose the many different pathologies. All the physicians who work in this sector are specialized in Radiology and are certified by the Brazilian Society of Radiology, and this certification is renewed every five years in line with the international trend for the permanent quality control in the area of diagnostic imaging.
The exams can de scheduled by calling 55 21 2538-3901.
The results can be obtained on site, via internet or with a delivery request.
Magnetic Resonance
The technology of the new equipment allows the Magnetic Resonance exams to facilitate the advanced diagnosis of cardiology and neurology conditions in a non invasive manner, avoiding more complex and invasive methods such as arteriographies and cardiac catheterism.
The computer generated high resolution three-dimensional images allow a precise evaluation of the lesions of the organs and tissues, contributing to better planning corrective surgeries and reducing the chances of complications due to interventions.
Attention! Not all people can undergo this exam because it uses electromagnetic waves to form the images. Those with pacemakers, with metallic prosthesis or cerebral aneurysm clips must convey this information to their physician. Nevertheless, before any exam the patients go through a double triage – when the exam is scheduled and they reply the questions asked by the receptionists and when they are seen by the nurses or technicians prior to the exam in order to identify patients with risks and to give all the necessary information.
Computerized Tomography
This device issues radiation reaching the region of the body that needs to be examined in 360 degrees supplying three-dimensional images with great speed and high resolution that are much more complex than the conventional X-Ray equipments. This new generation of Multislice Computerised Tomography equipment allows advanced studies in neurology and cardiology. Among other possibilities, one single exam due to chest pains might supply information for the diagnosis to differentiate among coronopathy, thromboembolism and aortic dissection.
Ultrasound
This technique uses sound waves to produce real time images of organs, tissues and blood flow and the quality of the exam depends not only on the equipment used but mainly on the skill of the person operating it. In Brazil, only physicians can operate Ultrasound equipment and at Clínica São Vicente these professionals are specialised in diagnostic imaging. Our three-dimensional ultrasound equipment supplies images in many angles helping to view the organs in the exam.
General Radiology
The radiography method uses X-Rays to obtain the images. All exams are conducted in total safety and comfort for the patient, using equipments that produce the slightest radiation possible. Simple Radiology allows the diagnosis of alterations to the skull and face, backbone, pelvis and lower members, thoracic vertebrae, upper members and internal organs in the thorax. Specialized radiology supplies images of the digestive system and the genitourinary system.
Attention! Restrictions may apply to pregnant women. The physicians must be informed of the pregnancy.
